Thomas Arnold Obituary

Mr. Thomas Lesslie Arnold, Sr., 100, of North Augusta entered into rest April 16, 2026. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday morning, April 25th, at 10 o'clock at Fairview Presbyterian Church with Dr. Allen M. Thompson and Rev. Masaki Chiba officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens with Veteran Honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening, April 24th, from 5 until 7 o'clock.

Mr. Arnold was born October 23, 1925, to the late Bryson Albert Arnold and Lois Dallas Lesslie Arnold. He was raised in Woodruff, SC where he spent his teens working for the local railroad learning Morse code which gave him a lifelong love of HAM radio. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during World Ward II in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Arnold graduated from Clemson University in 1951 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Upon graduation, he made North Augusta his home and worked for Babcock and Wilcox, retiring with 35 years of service. An avid golfer, he was able to brag that he shot in the 70s twice! He was an active member of Fairview Presbyterian Church where he sang in the church choir for many years finding much joy and fellowship.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce S. Arnold; his son, Thomas Lesslie Arnold, Jr., and his sister, Margaret Jeter.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Nancy Hardin (Thomas); three grandchildren, Tyler Hardin (Robbin), Jeremy Hardin (Stephanie), and Rachael Hardin, seven great-grandchildren as well as his nephew Robert Jeter (Theresa) and niece Caroline Melton (Loyd).
