Theodore Morton Obituary
AIKEN - Theodore (Ted) W. Morton, 72, died Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Born in Aiken, S.C., he was the son of the late John E. and Sarah Raborn Morton. He was a graduate of Aiken High School and attended Pensacola Junior College, Pensacola Florida. He was a successful builder and developer in the Aiken area for 25 years. He was also one of the original organizers of Aiken County National Bank and served on the board of directors for five years. He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years, Judy Cadden Morton, are son John F. (Stephanie) Morton, Lexington; three grandchildren, Anna Ruth Branton, Irmo, Tyler and Lauren Morton; sister Bernice (Aubry) Sheffield, Aiken; and brother William E. (Elise) Morton of Columbia.
He was also preceded in death by his brother Colonel John E. (Betty) Morton, Jr., USAF, Tuscon, A.Z.
Special thanks to the 11 West nursing staff, Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, Columbia, S.C. for the care and compassion they provided.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday in Aiken Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Paul Romanstine and Randy Eason officiating.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Cadden, Nick Busbee, Troy Cadden, Heath Cadden, Jesse Harris, Charles Collie.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Memorial Baptist Church, 3100 Vaucluse Rd, Aiken, SC 29801.

I am saddened to hear that Ted has died. My condolences to Judy and the rest of the family. My prayers are with you
I have known Ted and Judy since they started dating. In his early years of working at Lee's Department Store in Aiken, he and I worked together in the Sporting Goods department. He was the manager and I was a clerk.
Ted had a great sense of humor and was easy going. We became the best of friends. I haven't seen Ted and Judy for ten years, but I will always cherish the friendship we had. Rest in peace my dear friend.
