Thelma Ellis Obituary

Thelma Cline Thomas Ellis, of Lafayette, TN, was born on Thursday, November 13, 1919 in Macon County, TN, to the late Clayton Thomas and Mary Magdeline McDuffee Thomas. She departed this life on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the age of 94 years, 2 months and 6 days. Funeral services for Thelma Ellis were conducted from the Anderson and Son Funeral Home in Lafayette on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Randall Oldham and Elder Jeff Blackwell officiating.

Interment followed in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers were Knollwood Manor employees, Korbin Smith and Jacob Ellis. Pallbearers were W.C. Smith, Phillip Smith, Kevin Smith, Bruce Thomas, Jeff Owens, David Thomas, Danny Thomas and Hunter Dyer. Thelma was married to Audie Ovel "Bill" Ellis, who preceded her in death on March 25, 1989. She was a member of Old Beech Bottom Missionary Baptist church. She had previously worked at Carter Automotives for 12 years.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Rufus, William and Bethel Thomas, and one sister, Evie Smith. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Yvonne Ellis; grandchildren, Jeremy Ellis, Josh (Eva) Ellis and Kaitie Ellis; a great-grandchild, Jacob Ellis, all of Lafayette; sister-in-law Amerine Thomas of Goodlettsville; several nieces and nephews.
