Terry Weinle Obituary

Terry Weinle
AIKEN - Mrs. Terry Ward Weinle passed away peacefully surrounded by family Wednesday, October 2, 2024 on her 86th birthday - a sign of a full circle life.
Terry was born in Jacksonville, FL, daughter of the late Joe Terrell and Robyn Wells Ward.
Terry graduated from Emory University with a BS in Chemistry. After raising her three children, she went back to college at the University of North Carolina Charlotte and earned her BS in Accounting and obtained her CPA license. She worked at Bank of America in Charlotte, NC until she retired back to Aiken in 1998.
Her greatest passion was her family, which started with Paul, the love of her life, whom she met 66 years ago. They were married in 1960 and spent their honeymoon on job interviews with less than 60 dollars in their pocket. They were the perfect match. She adoringly listened to his endless stories and he adoringly tolerated her spending on beauty products. They loved being together and you would rarely find them apart.
Their love produced 3 cherished children and 4 amazing grandchildren who all inherited her great sense of humor. She lived a faith-filled life which was evident by her grace and selflessness. She was always so easy to talk to and would listen non-judgmentally and caringly shared her wisdom if asked. Her many special friendships brought her so much joy, laughter, and comfort.
She loved to travel and enjoyed being with her family. She had many hobbies including researching and repairing clocks, playing golf and tennis, and working word puzzles. She was a self-taught chef, seamstress, artist and writer. She even submitted a short story to Erma Bombeck and journaled all her many extensive trips.
Terry is survived by her husband, the love of her life, Paul Louis Weinle; her son, Stephen (Connie) Weinle, Memphis, TN; daughters, Robyn (Robert) Conner, Spartanburg, SC, and Laura (Tad) Gruebel, Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Alex Conner (Derek) Sexton, Rachel Gruebel, Christian Gruebel, and Lillian Gruebel; and her younger brother, Edward (Maria) Ward, Alexandria, VA.
Inurnment will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2024, in the St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church Columbarium. The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Old St. Mary Church, Park Ave.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Mary Help of Christians STEM Center (https://www.stmarys-aiken.org/academ)

Terry was my older first cousin. She was my brother John´s age. Her mother, my Aunt Robyn, was my favorite (of two others). She was my mother´s sister. When we were children we saw each other often. But, I´m sad to say, in later years we had little contact. As adults, our contact ceased. I called her about 10 years ago to invite her to our family Thanksgiving reunion but she had obligations to her immediate family.
Rest in Peace Dear Cousin.

Condolences to all the family of a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

We became friends in 1968 and our friendship flourished from then on. Our two daughters became friends with her two girls and this kept us involved. She was always there to listen and comfort all that she met, without ever talking about her own problems. Even though when we moved to California, we remained good friends.

Terry was one of the dearest and gracious ladies one could ever meet and she will be greatly missed, but always remembered.
