TERRY RATCLIFF Obituary

RATCLIFF, MR. TERRY - of LaFollette went to be home with the Lord, Monday, October 27, 2014. He was born to Bill and Lula Ratcliff in Jellico, TN on June 17, 1931. He was a member of First Baptist Church of LaFollette and served as Sunday School teacher, Deacon, and sang in the choir. He attended Carson-Newman College followed by a four year time in the U.S. Air Force and then attended Howard College receiving a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He came to LaFollette right out of college and became a partner with Carmen Eblen at Riggs Rexall Drug Store on the corner. Later, he opened Terry's Pharmacy. Terry loved his profession which he practiced for 50 years until Parkinson's forced him to retire. He was instrumental in establishing the Campbell County Christian Academy. He was a member of Board of Trustees of East Tennessee Baptist Hospital, Campbell County Heart Fund Chairman for several years, past president of Campbell County Rotary Club. Terry was a Godly man with quiet strength. He lived by Proverbs 3:5-6. In addition to his parents, Terry is preceded in death by his brother, Billy. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Mary Lynn Methfessel Ratcliff; son, Mark L. Ratcliff of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Terry Lynn Hursey of Knoxville, TN; granddaughters, Caroline Wesson and husband Greg, of Chattanooga, TN, and Annie Abraham and husband Paul of Knoxville, TN; four great-grandchildren; twin brother, Jerry Wayne Ratcliff and wife Ann, of Swannanoa, NC, and brother, John P. Ratcliff and wife Sarah, of Greeneville, TN; sister-in-law, Inez Ratcliff of Knoxville. Funeral services Thursday 3:00 P.M. at LaFollette First Baptist Church with Dr. Duane Mills officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Thursday before funeral services. Memorial contributions may be made to: Campbell County Christian Academy, 2709 General Carl W.
