Terry R. Sloan, Jr. Obituary
TR graduated from Aiken High School in 1981 and received his Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from Clemson University and worked many years at DuPont, Michelin and Hitachi Electronic Devices. He currently worked as a successful Financial Advisor at Edward Jones in Greenville, SC and was so loved and respected by his clients.
He was also very active in college baseball and an American Legion baseball umpire for decades.
His love for the game, (within the game), the players and his fellow umpires was legendary. He was always fair, honest and gave 100% as well as expecting that much from others.
TR was also an avid outdoorsman, spending many hours hunting and fly fishing with his best friend and wife, Carol. He often traveled to remote spots to pursue his passion. He kept his family and friends well fed.
He was a dedicated new pops to granddaughter Ivy Ann. He loved to read to her and cried almost every time he saw her. His memory will be kept alive for her.
TR is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; son, Trey (Shelby) of Nashville, TN; daughter, Emily Sloan Stacy (Landon) of Pelzer, SC; granddaughter, Ivy Ann Stacy; son(step), Will Johnson of Piedmont, SC and sister, Bridget Sloan Schausten (Mike) of Blythewood, SC.
TR is predeceased by his father Terry R. Sloan, Sr. and mother Rita Marie Sloan.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
TR will be missed immensely by his family and friends who loved him dearly and were loved just as much in return.
