Susan Farrell-Ranker, longtime resident of Martinez, passed away on Sunday, November 16th, 2014.
Sue was born in Oak Park, IL on August 30th, 1954. She was the third child of Eileen and the late Robert Farrell.
In 1981, Sue married the love of her life, Douglas Ranker, and they settled in Martinez. Together they raised their three beautiful daughters, Amy, Molly (Justin) and Jayme. These were happy times full of purpose, love and laughter. They shared 18 wonderful years together until Doug's passing in 1999.
Those of us left to cherish her memory will remember a remarkable woman full of compassion, generosity, humor and intelligence. Sue always had an open heart and a giving spirit.
Sue is survived by her daughters, mother, Eileen, sisters, Kathy (Bill), Nancy, Mary (David), Christine (Thor), brother, Robert (Penny), and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she lovingly influenced. Her family finds comfort in knowing that Doug and Sue are together again.
A private service for family was held over the Thanksgiving holiday and a celebration of her life is planned for January 31, 2015.
