Stanley Ray Gray
AIKEN - A Celebration of Life service for Stanley Ray Gray, 69, of Aiken, SC will be held four pm Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC., with Military Honors accorded, the Reverend Steve Hall will be officiating. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday and other times at the home of Wesley and Stacey Gray in Salley. Mr. Gray passed away on Friday September 1, 2017.
Born in Newnan, Georgia he was a son of the late W. G. Gray and Maggie Ruth Costley Gray. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served two tours of duty in the Vietnam War and worked in Iraq as a contract driver. He retired as a truck driver having worked for E.I. DuPont and Westinghouse at the Savannah River Site and worked for Aiken County as a Recycling Site Attendant. Stanley had a great sense of humor, his jokes and good humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife Peggy Jean Chavis Gray of the home; daughter, April G. (Nicholas) Blanton of Wagener; Raymond Wesley (Stacey) Gray of Salley; grandchildren William Pierce Blanton, Sydney Elyse Blanton, James Lucas Gray and Hanna Leah Gray; sisters, Gail Baxley and Audrey Gray both of Williston; brothers Gordon (Bonita) Gray of Williston and Earl (Brenda) Gray of Aiken; mother-in-law Mary Chavis Hallowell and was adored by a host of nieces and nephews.
