Shirley Barnett Obituary

North Augusta, SC – Funeral Services for Shirley Ann Barnett, 80, who entered into rest January 14, 2026, will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel, Rev. Justin Epps officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Barnett was born March 6, 1945, in Memphis, TN to the late John and Gladys Looney. She was a longtime and active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Barnett was very involved with the Tri-Development Center. She enjoyed gardening, ceramics, sewing and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Janice Hedrick and Pamela Elizabeth Barnett; brothers, Jessie Looney, James Looney and Billy Looney.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William Ray Barnett; daughters, Cynthia Blocker, Kathryn Barnett and Donna Barnett; five grandchildren, Ray Stapler (Shanelle), John Blocker, Dustin Blocker, Christopher Barnett (Pam) and Michael Cross; 18 great-grandchildren, Tyson, Autumn, Harmony, Liliana, Kynslie, Michkiya, Hunter, Lucas, Liam, Layla, Kristin, Alexis, Lacey, Paisley, Callie, Nathan, Khloe and Andrew.
