Scott Thomas Furman
AIKEN - Scott Thomas Furman, age 45, passed away at Augusta University Medical Center on August 24, 2023. Family members and clergy were by his bedside.
Scott was born May 15, 1978, at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland. Scott was a graduate of McDonough High School in Charles County, Maryland and also completed courses at Test Technology Institute while employed at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. After moving to Aiken, SC to be with family, he set up his own business as a technical consultant for computers, laptops, Bluetooth, wi-fi, i-phones, and i-pads. He was also employed as a consultant at Bed Bath & Beyond where he enjoyed meeting and helping people with product choices.
Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides; Marion A. Scott (Bud), Elizabeth Scott (Gregory), Arthur J. Furman, Bessie Mae Furman, all of whom he loved dearly. Scott is survived by his parents, Thomas P. Furman and Emmie M. Scott Furman; his brother, James M. Furman and wife, Heidi; two nieces, Madison E. Furman and Jocelyn M. Furman; and a nephew, Mason T. Furman; also, his aunts and uncles, Ann "Ne-Ne" and Dan Daniels, and Marion and Pam Scott.
Scott loved flying his many drones and taking aerial pictures. He loved music and was very good at photography. He will always be missed by his family and friends.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, New York 10306 (T2T.org).
The family will receive friends at George Funeral Home on Thursday, August 31, 2023, beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the memorial service following at 2:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel. The family will host a reception in the George Parlor following the service.
