Samuel Caudill Obituary

Newton, NC - Samuel Joel Caudill II, 30, entered into rest September 11, 2025. Graveside Services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. Samuel was born March 4, 1995, to his parents, Melanie Rachel Slate and the late Sammy Joe Caudill. He was raised in Morganton, NC, and moved to North Augusta as a teenager, where he graduated from North Augusta High School. Samuel attended culinary school and has made Newton, NC his home for the past seven years. He loved all genres of music and enjoyed composing his own song lyrics. Samuel had an incredible sense of humor and a fun personality. He loved people and was known as a "big teddy bear" that gave the most genuine and sincere hugs. He loved to keep in touch with his family and he made sure that they all felt loved. In addition to his father, Samuel was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Elmer and Delores Caudill; his maternal grandmother, Mary Lee Slate; his father, Sammy Joe Caudill; and his uncle Michael Caudill. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his mother, Melanie Rachel Slate; his maternal grandfather, Arther Slate; his siblings: Kaylee Pulley (Paige), James Fields, Spencer Caudill (Jesika); aunts; Tammy Bryant, Michelle Masterson (Tam), Maria Slate, Wendy Lovelady, Gina Flores (Carlos), and Elizabeth Dickens; uncles; Darrell Caudill (Dana), Howdy Lovelady, Paul Bryant (Paula), Raymond Slate (Kayla), Michael Slate (Deanna), and Arther Slate II (Pam). He will always be remembered by the numerous loving cousins and friends he left behind and the love he shared with them.
