Samuel Ayers Obituary
AUGUSTA, GA - Memorial Services for Mr. Samuel "Sam" Ayers, Sr., 64, of St. John Towers, Augusta, Georgia, who entered into rest January 26, 2015, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Posey Funeral Chapel. Pastor Ron Fearneyhough officiating. Interment at a later date.
Mr. Ayers was a native of Columbia, SC, a former resident of Aiken, SC, having made Augusta his home for the past two years. He was a member of Edisto Baptist Church, the Carolina Superintendent Association, the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America and was retired as a golf course superintendent with 30+ years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Roberta W. Ayers; three sons, Samuel Ayers, Jr., Christopher Ayers and Noel Leseueur; three daughters, Laural McLean, Angel Stewart and Jennifer Stewart; a brother, Edward L. Ayers, Jr.; nine grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the St. John Towers, 724 Green Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
