Ruth Gay Obituary
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Funeral Services for Mrs. Nellie Ruth Gay, 90, who entered into rest October 12, 2014, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Bible Deliverance Temple. Dr. Kelly McKnight and Bishop Phillip Napier Officiating. Interment in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gay was a native of Barnesville, GA, having made the Augusta area her home for the past 82 years. She was of the Holiness faith and a member of Bible Deliverance Temple. Mrs. Gay was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents George Lester and Rosie Lee Jordan, a son, George Kenneth Blackstone and two grandsons, David Moore and Michael Morris.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years Wayne E. Gay; two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne E. and Sharlea Gay, Jr., Warrenville, SC, James Neil and Lindsay Gay, North Augusta, SC; six daughters and sons-in-law, Tonya and Earl Wilson, Vero Beach, FL, Carolyn and Rick Faircloth, Wagner, SC, Linda Thompson, North Augusta, SC, Janice and Robert Price, Augusta, GA, Nellie Ruth Stephens, North Augusta, SC, Barbara and Tony Powell, North Augusta, SC; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; ten great great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Mandy.
Active Pallbearers will be Steven Weeks, Bart Weeks, Brandon Weeks, Christopher Stephens, Jonathan Stephens, Nicholas Stephens, Raymond Powell and Patrick Smith.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5 until 8.
