Ronald Patterson
RUTHERFORDTON, NC - Ronald Van Patterson, 68, of Green Creek, NC passed into the light on April 4, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Sara Hampton Patterson and the late James D. Patterson in Anniston, AL. He graduated from Aiken High School in 1968 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wofford College in 1972. He attended Southern Methodist University. He married Pamela Palmer in 1986 and they raised their family together in Green Creek. Ron was ordained as a Minister of Spiritual Science in 1994. He founded Lumen Photon Therapy in 2000 and was a pioneer in the light therapy field. His compassionate, strong and loving presence provided guidance and loving integrity along with a pinch of mischief to family, friends and business associates along the way. He treasured his farm, woods, animals and loved to play guitar.
Ron is survived by his mother, Sara Patterson of Anderson, SC; his wife, Pamela Patterson and their children, Brendan (Antoinette) Palmer of Campobello, SC; Selena Patterson of Spartanburg, SC; Ian Patterson of Spartanburg, SC; Alicia (Gregory) Wallace of Green Creek, NC. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie Jones of Anderson, SC and three grandchildren, Eris, Selah and Luciana Palmer.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on May 12, 2018 at Song Hill Reserve from 2-5 p.m. Memorial tributes may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, a non-profit organization.

Please accept my condolences. My heartfelt sympathy go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

I grew up in College Acres with Ronnie and a lot of other fortunate kids. I remember Halloween in the neighborhood.. it was always a good time. Ronnie is part of all that. Sending love to his family
