Robert D. Widener
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Robert D. Widener, age 69, of North Augusta, S.C., husband of the late Marilyn B.Widener and son of the late Albert Widener and Lila Seigler Widener, entered into rest on Monday, December 29, 2014.
He is survived by a daughter, Adrianne W. Coyler of Jacksonville, Florida; a son, Justin Boone of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sisters, Minnie Mae W. Boyd of Warrenville, S.C., June W. Roberts of Aiken, S. C. and Alberta W. Newsome of Ridge Spring, S.C.; brothers, Edward Widener and James Widener both of Aiken, S.C. and Larry Widener of Neese, S.C. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Laverne Widener.
He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a lifetime member of the Vaucluse Church of God, which is now University Parkway Church of God. The family stated that he was a loving father, brother and friend. He really enjoyed attending his church and listening to Gospel music. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 69 years that God granted him on this earth; however, death is not the end for the Christian. He has just made that transition to his new eternal home, where all is joy and peace, and no sad goodbyes are ever spoken.
A service, celebrating his life will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home today, Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 4:00 PM with Rev. Henry Shaffer officiating. The interment will follow at the Vaucluse Cemetery. Nephews will serve as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
