Robert "Bob" Mills
AIKEN - Mr. Robert Eugene "Bob" Mills, 71, beloved husband of Sharon D. Mills, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at his residence.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:30 Sunday, June 26, 2022 at New Spring Church. The memorial service will follow at 3:30 with the Rev. Matt Steelman officiating.
Born in St. Helens, England, Bob was the son of the late Carol E. and Freida Fairhurst. He and his family immigrated to the states, passing through Ellis Island when he was 6 months old. They settled in Martinsburg, WV shortly thereafter. He graduated from Martinsburg High School (home of the Bulldogs) class of 1969 and was married to his high school sweetheart, Sharon in 1972. They recently celebrated 50 years of marriage on March 11, 2022. They moved to Aiken in 1987 where Bob continued his career with DuPont. After retirement, Bob's main hobby was to spend time with family, drive his Ford Thunderbird convertible and trace his family roots and ancestry. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and was an avid WVU fan. Bob was a member of New Spring Church.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his two children, Brandy (Tim) Botto, Mt. Pleasant, SC, Aaron (Jessica) Mills, Aiken; grandchildren, Marx Mills, Jaxon Mills, Cortney Botto, Joshua Botto, Zachary Botto, Reagan Fulmer, John Tucker Christensen; siblings, Carol Garrett, Linda Barney, Barry (Bonnie) Mills, Tony Mills all of Martinsburg, WV; sister-in-law, Nancy J. Cave of Aiken and several nieces and nephews.
