Robert Humphries
Beech Island - Brother Robert Franklin Humphries, 73, of Beech Island, SC, beloved husband of twenty-eight years to Claire Humphries, went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
Born in Lancaster, SC, a son of the late Perry and Beulah Humphries, he had been a resident of Charleston, SC, before making Aiken County, SC, his home in 1992. He was in the Finance Industry for a number of years. Brother Humphries was also a minister of the Gospel, having ministered at several churches for over three decades. He was a dedicated member of Faith Independent Baptist Church. Other than spreading the word, he enjoyed helping people and volunteering at the Garden City Rescue Mission.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his boys, Robert Franklin Humphries, II and his wife, Ashley, North Augusta, SC and James Caleb Humphries, Beech Island, SC; siblings, Johnny Ray Humphries, Carl Douglas Humphries, Mary Ellen Robertson, Darlene Phillips and Jackie Boyd, all of Lancaster, SC, Peggy Williams, Charlotte, NC, Betty Weaver, Myrtle Beach, SC, the late James Edward Humphries and the late Donald Perry Humphries and seventeen nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at 11 o'clock at Faith Independent Baptist Church. Pastor Michael Brendel will officiate. Friends will be greeted by the family following the service.
