Richard Swearingen Obituary

Mr. Richard Swearingen
Warrenville - Mr. Charles "Richard" Swearingen, 80, of Warrenville, SC, beloved husband to the late Faith Griswold Swearingen, entered into rest on Saturday, December 31, 2022, to celebrate his beloved wife's birthday in Heaven. Richard was in the comfort of his home surrounded by family.
Born in Langley, SC, he was a son of the late William D. Swearingen and Lillie Mae Penwell Swearingen. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist, where he served as a dedicated minister of music for forty plus years. He enjoyed spending time with his family; especially down at the ball field cheering on his granddaughter, Kenleigh Reece from the sidelines. Richard loved to fish and shared many memories with close friends and family on the water. He loved watching the purple martins come in every spring and gardening. Most of all he loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers "Bill", "Lee" and "JD" and his sister Janell. He is survived by his only child, Paige Bayne (Jason), grandchildren, Kenleigh Bayne and Mykah Bayne, siblings, Della Mae Hurt (Charles) and Rachel Baxley (Larry), multiple nieces and nephews and extended family, Sheryl Reames, Kellie Reames and Marlee Rae.
Friends will be greeted by the family on Friday, January 6, 2023, beginning at 2 o'clock at Pine Forest Baptist Church, Warrenville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o'clock. Pastor Ron Doss will officiate with special music provided by his beloved nephew, Dewayne Humphreys. Inurnment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Admedisys Hospice, especially Mrs. Josephine Patterson and Robin Brunson for all their help, support and love during this difficult time.
