Raymond G. Levesque
AIKEN - Raymond G. Levesque beloved husband of Claire M. Levesque for 61 years went to be with His Lord and Savior, surrounded by his loving family on March 11, 2023. They were Married on September 4, 1961 at Precious Blood Church in Woonsocket, RI.
He was the son of the late Lectance and Albina Levesque (Champoux) of Woonsocket, RI. He leaves behind three children; Diana M. Lambert (Ernie), Paulie M. Maclure (Michael), Daniel R. Levesque (Joel Casey). Ray was lovingly known by his sons -in-law as "Phil" fix it. He also leaves four grandchildren; Adam Lambert (Amber), Nicholas Lambert (Megan), Erica Jill Goodwin (Justin), Jeremy Maclure (Erica) and eight Great-granchildren; Ella J. Lambert, Maeline Lambert, Avery Lambert, Jack Lambert, Annie Lambert, Darcey Ray Lambert, Emma Claire Neal and Mackenzie Neal.
Ray was preceded in death by his sisters; Jeannine Levesque, Violet Holcomb, Lucille Frabotta, Laurette Connelly, Gertrude Deconning and brothers; Robert Levesque and Roland Levesque.
He served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1957-1961 on board The USS Salem and The USS Canberra. Ray was a lover of all sports and having been on the US Navy boxing team during his years of service, he particularly loved boxing. He also loved game of golf and was a member of Houndslake Country Club for 20 years. He was a Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins and Celtics fan. He attended the University of Rhode Island and received his Bachelors degree in nutrition from Donsbach University. He served as president of the HOA where he and Claire resided, Mallard Lake. He served on the board of directors for Stand at The Crossroads Ministries in Aiken, SC. He and his wife Claire served as ministry directors of Celebrate Recovery at Cedar Creek Church in Aiken, SC for 19 years.
Ray loved to laugh and he had a wonderful sense of humor. He was always the encourager to all persons he met.
"I thank my God for my time on this earth with an amazing family and friends.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, March 19th beginning at 2 o'clock at Cedar Creek Church, Banks Mill Campus.
A memorial service will follow at 3 o'clock with The Rev. Phillip Lee officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contriubtions may be directed to Celebrate Recovery, Cedar Creek Church, 3001 Banks Mill Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
