Raymond Arnold Hutto
AIKEN, SC - Raymond Arnold Hutto, 87, entered into eternal rest on February 13, 2017 at his residence.
Born in Neeses, SC to the late Arnold J. Hutto and Eunice Irene Hutto, he was a lifelong resident of Aiken, SC. Raymond Hutto was dedicated to his family and his community. He was well loved and respected by all that knew him. He served in the Army as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean Conflict and continued his service as an Army Chaplain for the American Legion Post 153 for 8 years. He retired from E. I. DuPont Co. with 35 years service. Raymond served as a deacon for over 50 years at Good Hope Baptist Church and was music director for many years. Mr. Hutto was a member of the Horse Creek Masonic Lodge #174 and was Past District Deputy Grand Master. He sat on the Board Of Trustees of the Aiken Electric Cooperative. He also was a member of the National Federation of the Blind.
Mr. Hutto is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Beard Hutto, sons, Raymond A. Hutto Jr. (Jody) Martinez, GA. Timothy J. Hutto (Tammy) Evans, GA,
Anthony K. Hutto, Beech Island, Jeffrey L. Hutto (Tracy) Aiken, SC and Jeffrey Hutto Jr., New Ellenton, SC; Grandchildren, Rachel Hutto, Benjamin Hutto, Angel Marie Pavey, Elizabeth Dunagan; Great-Grandchildren, Patrick Joiner, Seth Killian, Lana, Shane, Wyatt and Oliver Pavey; Sister-in-law Louise Hutto, Aiken; and brother Cecil Hutto (Rosemary) Graniteville, SC.
Mr. Hutto is proceeded in death by his parents, Arnold and Irene Hutto, brother Joe, sisters Dot, Jean, and Joyce and by his granddaughter, Heather Joiner.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon, February 16th beginning at 1 o'clock at Good Hope Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 2 o'clock. The Reverend Tim Nardi will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Hutto, Terry Hutto, Jerry Hutto, Glenn Beard, Mike Jones and Gary Stookesbury.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Good Hope Baptist Church. The church is located at 2118 Silver Bluff Rd Aiken, SC.

There was never a better man than Mr.Raymond. He served his country, family and friends and friends with dignity and respect. I'm glad that I was able to meet him through our American Legion Post.
