Raymon "Ray" Lovett
Aiken - Mr. Raymon "Ray" C. Lovett, 77, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family and dog, on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
Ray was born in Sylvania, GA, a son of the late Dessie L. and Ellene Reddick Lovett. He was in the National Guard, a former Sertoma member, and owned and operated Lovett's Auto Sales for many years. After retirement, he worked for his son at Brian Lovett Auto Sales. He was a member of McBride Methodist Church in Sylvania GA, and an avid Clemson fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooke (Sean) L. Collett, Evans, GA; sons, Brian Lovett, Graniteville, Tim (Shanna) Lovett, Aiken; step-daughters, Kathy Holsenback, Aiken, Sheila Fulmer, Aiken; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Cecile L. Kirkley, Reidsville, GA; and his beloved dog, Buddy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashleigh Denise Lovett, and a sister, Joyce L. Morton.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, June 13, 2021 in the chapel of SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC, with Pastor Bernie Heyward officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Aiken County Animal Shelter, 333 Wire Rd., Aiken, SC 29801.
