Pinkie Mae Johnson
LAUDERHILL, FL - Ms. Pinkie Mae Johnson, of Lauderhill, FL was born on October 23, 1945 in Dunbarton, SC. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Richard Johnson, Sr, and the late Pinkie Smith Johnson.
At an early age, Pinkie accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Saviour, and was baptized at the Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Martin, SC. After relocating to Florida, she united with the First Baptist Church of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Pinkie was a 1964 graduate of Butler High School in Barnwell, SC. She continued her education in nursing at Paine College in Augusta, GA. She retired after 32 years of service from St. Joseph Retirement Center in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Pinkie entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 21, 2015, at GRU Medical Center in Augusta, GA. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Eric
Johnson of Martin, SC, and Timothy Wilson of Lancaster, PA; four sisters, Berter Mae Ingram of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Mary J. Hamin of Gaston, SC, Edna (Furman) Clifton of Columbia, SC, and Wilmyrtle Williams of Lauderhill, FL; three brothers, Richard Johnson, Jr. of Aiken, SC, Brooker T. (Diane) Johnson and Rev.
Wendell Johnson both of Martin, SC; two special nieces, Areta Ford, and Beverly D. Ingram of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sympathizing friends.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 27, 2015, at the Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Martin, South Carolina, with Pastor Wendell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church's Cemetery.
