Phyllis Lawless Obituary
Aiken - Mrs. Phyllis Jean Renn Lawless, 85, entered into rest peacefully at home while surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, September 23, 2021.
Phyllis was born in Welch, WV, the daughter of the late Donald and Phyllis Nuckolls Renn. She was happiest when surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy (Col Mike, USAF, Ret.) Gossett, Aiken; Kim (Mark) Farmer, Aiken; a son, John (Debbie) Lawless, Jr., Aiken; grandchildren, Amber Lawless, Kaitlyn Lawless, Bailey Lawless, Dalton Lawless, Maj. Jason (Corrie) Gossett, Lauren Gossett, Braydon Farmer, Cole Farmer; great grandchildren, Brooks Lawless, Logan Lawless, Jacob Gossett, and Thomas Gossett. In addition to her parents and step-mother (Alice Croye Renn), Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, John William Lawless, Sr., a granddaughter, Alecia Lawless, and a brother, Donald Renn.
A visitation will be held from 3:00-4:00PM Sunday, September 26, 2021, and the funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home with the Reverend Matt Steelman officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Aiken County Animal Shelter, 333 Wire Road, Aiken, SC 29801, or the Billy Graham Evangelical Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC, 28201.
