Phyllis Cockrell Obituary
Aiken - Mrs. Phyllis Johnson Cockrell, 66, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022.
Phyllis was born in Parkersburg, WV, a daughter of the late John L. Johnson and Martha Stephens Johnson. She had been a resident of Aiken since 1989, and was a former LPN at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. She attended the Batesburg Church of the Nazarene.
Phyllis is survived by her two sisters, Libby (David) Hyde, Aiken, and Carolyn (Charlie) McDiffitt, Aiken; her brother, Timothy (Rebecca) Johnson, Parkersburg, WV; niece and nephews, Shauna (Wayne) Hyde-Hollandsworth, Will (Jeanene) Hyde, S. Babe (Tammy) Hyde, and John (Rachel) Hyde, all of Parkersburg; seven great nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM, and a Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 PM on Sunday, March 6, 2022 in the Shellhouse Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Elizabeth Newman officiating. A private interment will be held in the Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery.

I worked with Phyllis for many years at Aiken Regional on 3 Main. When I was a new unit clerk and times were rough, she always helped me and I will always remember that. Phyllis was a really sweet lady with a great sense of humor. You will be missed Phyllis and I will see you again one day my friend.
