Phillip Cohen Obituary

Edgefield, SC – Mr. Phillip "Phil" Eugene Cohen, 69, of Edgefield, SC, passed away June 4, 2025. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel with Dr. Paul W. Noe officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 o'clock. Phil was born February 4, 1956, to the late Robert Cohen and Dorothy Umphrey Cohen. He was raised in Morris, IL, was a former resident of Aiken, SC, having made Edgefield, SC his home for 14 years. Phil was a truck driver with over 40 years of experience. He was a lover of animals and an antique car enthusiast. Phil was the proud owner of a 1931 Model A Ford and enjoyed tinkering with cars. He was a family man who constantly put the needs of others before his own. Phil truly had a giver's heart, adored his family, and was a wonderful provider and caregiver to those he loved. In addition to his parents, Phil was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Cohen; and a sister, Melody Brazil. Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 14 years, Teresa Ivey Cohen; his son, Russell Cohen; his daughter, Racheal Cohen; his brothers, Doug Cohen, Darrell Cohen, and James Cohen; his sisters, Nancy Thompson, Becky Hoffman, Debby Jepsen, and Toni Maddox; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Ray Jepsen, James, Cohen, Darrell Cohen, Doug Cohen, Brion Holland, and Tony Derrick. Posey Funeral Directors of North Augusta is in charge of arrangements (803)278-1181.
