Philip Monaco Obituary

Philip Henry Monaco, Jr.
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Philip Henry Monaco, Jr., 89, of West Woodlawn Avenue, North Augusta, SC, beloved husband, father and grandfather, who passed away at his residence on Friday afternoon, April 22, 2016, will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 12:15 from the Church of The Most Holy Trinity. Father Jacek Szuster celebrant. Interment in Pineview Memorial Gardens with Veterans Honors.
Mr. Monaco was a native of Norwich, Connecticut, having made North Augusta his home for the past 80 years. He graduated from Boys Catholic High School in Augusta and was a US Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Monaco graduated from the Augusta Law School in June of 1960, and retired from the United States Treasury Department as an Internal Revenue Service Agent in 1989. He was a communicant of the Church of The Most Holy Trinity. Before the construction of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Mr. Monaco's home on West Woodlawn Avenue became one of the few homes in North Augusta where mass was celebrated and where he served as an alter boy.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Addie Cle "Boots" Monaco; three sons, Eric Monaco, Alex Monaco and Tim (Karen) Monaco all of North Augusta; a daughter, Kristina Monaco, North Augusta; eight grandchildren, Brad Monaco, Hannah Monaco, Brittney Yon, Nicholas Monaco, Anthony Monaco, Sean Monaco, Mark Monaco and Joseph Monaco; two great-grandchildren,
Preston Yon and Emma Yon.
The Vigil Service for the Deceased will be conducted Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock followed by visitation until 8.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Golden Harvest Food Bank, 3310 Commerce Drive, Augusta, GA 30909.
