Paul Blanke Obituary
AIKEN - Paul Richard Blanke, 86, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., November 11, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church. The Reverend Jeff Erbskorn will officiate. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ken Allor, Ken Beard, Bill Blosser, Dick Eichler, Tony Loesch, Vinne Mansfield, Bill Todd, and Norm Traub. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
Paul was born in Leavenworth, KS, the fourth child of Henry and Irene Blanke. The family moved to Chicago when Paul was young, where they practiced their lifelong commitment to their Christian faith. He graduated from Valparaiso University with a Business degree and enjoyed a 37-year career at IBM. He served as an executive with the company in Chicago, Cincinnati, Tokyo, and Manhattan. A storyteller at heart, Paul loved spending time with his friends and family, golfing, baking, and, as he would admit, trying to make the world just a little more organized.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Beverley Blanke; a daughter, Barbara E. Blanke, Canton, GA; a son, Dr. David P. (Janet) Blanke, Corpus Christi, TX; two grandchildren, Alexander and Benjamin (Hannah) Blanke.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 961 Trail Ridge Rd., Aiken, SC, 29803, or a charity of one's choice.
