Patrick Ford Love Obituary

Mr. Patrick Donald "Don" Ford Love, 67, of North Augusta, SC, husband of Peggy Marie Braxton Love, entered into rest on Thursday evening, July 17, 2025, while in the comfort of his home. Born in Richmond County, GA, on Valentine's Day 1958, the son of the late Pastor C.B. and Wanda Leigh Virginia Baker Love, he had been a lifelong resident of the area. He graduated from LBC High School in 1976 and furthered his education by attending the University of South Carolina. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in McCormick, SC, where his father pastored for many years. Don spent many years in the insurance industry. Often, he would be the top writing agent. He would always gladly start at the bottom of the totem pole and would quickly work his way to the top. An avid Gamecock fan, Don took Carolina football to heart. On any given game day, he would either be at Williams-Brice or his home, cheering on the Cocks. He enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises, playing a round of golf, playing basketball, planting flowers, savoring a cold Diet Coke, and having an iced cup of java. In the Disco era, he was known as "Disco Don". Along with his wife Peggy, Don is survived by Peggy's children, Jason (Zaniera) Day, Jessica Lee, Hayley (Ryan) Maddox and Logan Fleming, siblings, Mary Love Coakley and Mike (Rachel) Love, grandchildren, Gabriella Day, Lillian Maddox and Sophia Maddox, nephews, Trey Welsh and his children, Ryan, David, Parker and Nola Welsh and Christopher (Beth) Welsh as their son, Colby Welsh, nieces, April (Jason) Osborn and their children, Julia and Baird Osborn and Ashley (Brad) Ivey and their children, Gavin and Emerson Ivey. By his wishes, Don will be cremated, and the family will hold a private Celebration of Life Service. Memorials in memory of Don may be given to Bethany Baptist Church.
