Otis Jennings Obituary

Mr. Otis Maxwell Jennings, 82, of Jackson, SC, beloved husband and friend of Brenda Goff Jennings for the past forty-five years, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. A lifelong area resident, Otis was the son of the late Robert Ishmael and Dauzie Eubanks Jennings. Otis proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Navy. He obtained degrees from both Aiken and Augusta Technical Colleges. He retired as an electrician and machinist after working at Kimberly-Clark for thirty-four years. Otis enjoyed making syrup, doing anything with Volkswagens and motorcycles, taking trips to the beach, metal detecting, and tractors. However, more than anything else, he enjoyed being with his family, whom he loved dearly, and they, in turn, loved him dearly. Along with his wife, Brenda, Otis is survived by his children, Dana (Derek) Caughman, Teresa Jennings, OJay Jennings and Robert "Roscoe" (Amanda) Jennings, Brenda's children, Laurie (Lannis) Grubbs and Melynda (Sam) Slay, who Otis loved as if they were his children, siblings, Pete (Brenda) Wells, Gerald (the late Pat) Jennings, Virgil (Carol) Jennings and George (Cherry) Young, his beloved mother-in-law, Pansy Goff, 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His siblings: Ray (Connie) Jennings, Alvin (Linda) Young, Robert (Verona) Jennings, Judy Jennings and Peggy Reid; his sons: Howard Dixon Jennings, George Dalwin Jennings and Joseph Delwin Jennings; Brenda's daughter, Tommie Hare and a nephew, David Lee Jennings, who was more like a son, proceeded him in death. The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway, Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor James Young will officiate.
