Odessa Crow Obituary
AIKEN - Odessa Lucille Dalton CROW, 99, widow of The Rev. Dr. Raymond E. Crow, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, in Anchor Rehab and Healthcare Center.
A native of Polk County, NC, Odessa was a daughter of the late Olen D. and Bertha Cash Dalton. She was the youngest of ten children. Odessa was a minister's wife and served along side Dr. Crow as such for 65 years in churches both in North and South Carolina. They served Redds Branch Baptist Church in Aiken from 1974-1980. When Dr. Crow retired in 1984, they returned to Aiken. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Mike Crow (Linda), Springfield, AR, The Rev. Thomas Crow, Sr. (Cathy), Aiken; daughter-in-law, Judy Crow, Shelby, NC; son-in-law, Robert "Bob" Hallford, Aiken; eight grandchildren, Earl Crow, Jr. (Babs), Dawn Crow Benton (Tim), David Crow (Tasha), Anna Whitaker (Tom), Latrish Golden (Gerrad), Chris Zimmerman (Crystal Brock), Jeff Hallford (Bhanu), Michelle Shackford (David); fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Crow Hallford and son, William Ray Crow.
The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon, February 8th beginning at noon at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1 o'clock at the funeral home with The Revs. Brancie Stephens, Mike Frazier and Dr. Chris Masters officiating. Interment will be in Southlawn Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at https://iframe.dacast.com/b/156599/c/585055 . Due to the current Covid circumstances, the family requests that masks be worn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mission Dignity, a mission to provide dignity to retirement age Southern Baptist Ministers, workers and their widows (missiondignity.org).
