Miquela Keating Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Mrs. Miquela Hawkins Keating, 73, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2015.
Mrs. Keating was born in Harrisburg, PA to the late Thomas Sylvester and Edna Mae Swank Hawkins. She worked as a teacher in Chicago, IL and moved to Aiken in 1994. She was of Catholic faith. Mrs. Keating loved being surrounded by her family, especially her 12 grandchildren. Family gatherings brought her great joy. She also was an avid sports fan, watching her favorite teams play.
Mrs. Keating is survived by a daughter, Erin Keating-Brinkley, Aiken; three sons, Patrick David (Cindy) Keating, Aiken, Casey Keating, Aiken, Michael (Amy) Keating, Aurora, CO; grandchildren,
Rebecca Keating, Morgan Keating, Sydney Keating, Chloe Keating, Maggie Munschy, Dani Brinkley, Aiden Munschy, Molly Keating,
Kathleen Keating, Charles Keating, Daniel Keating, Patrick Keating and a sister, M. Carol McIlree, Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Patrick Keating; sister, Charlie Hawkins and a stepfather, George David McIver.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Aiken County Public School District, Office of Comptroller, Homeless Students, 1000 Brookhaven Dr., Aiken, SC 29803.
Interment will be held Monday, November 9, 2015 in Clarendon Hills Cemetery, Westmont, IL.
A visitation will be held from 2-4 PM Saturday, November 7, 2015 at SHELLHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 924 HAYNE AVE., AIKEN, SC.

Erin, Patrick, Casey and Michael
I am deeply saddened by the news of Mike's death. I had recently re-connected with her via Facebook and she did not mention one word about her health. I had asked to be able to speak with her but she apparently was reluctant to give me a call. A "Classy Woman" thing not to call a married man I suppose!! She was a GREAT LADY and I know that things were not easy for her after your fathers death. I know that she is now with John in HEAVEN with no aches and pains nor worries! She will be missed by all that knew her as she was such a wonderful lady. She was always so kind to my parents. May God Bless each of you and your families during this time and God Bless Mike as she looks down on us!!
