AIKEN - Mrs. Michele Macomber Rich, 58, beloved wife of Michael Edward "Mike" Rich, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Town Creek Baptist Church with The Rev. Clint Smith officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the family home.
Born in White Plains, NY, Michele was the daughter of the late Frank Gair and Beverly Yvonne Macomber. Michele and her family moved to Weaverville, North Carolina in 1969. Michele attended and graduated from Ben Lippen High School in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1983. She attended Montreat and UNC Asheville colleges. In 1992 she married Mike Rich of Black Mountain, North Carolina. They moved to Oklahoma City in 1994, where their son Theodore James Rich was born in 1995. Due to her husband's work with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. They moved to Aiken in June of 1998. In 2003 their daughter, Ella Kate Rich, was born in Augusta, Georgia. In 2014 Michele started working as an assistant admission coordinator for Pruitt Health in North Augusta, South Carolina. Her final position was as an admission coordinator with Crescent Hospice. She received several awards for her outstanding service with hospice. She medically retired in late 2022.
In addition to her husband, Michele is survived by her children; Theodore James Rich 28, of Martinez, Georgia and Ella Kate Rich 20, of Aiken, South Carolina. She is also survived by her brother, Brian Macomber, of Asheville, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research and St Jude's Hospital for Children.
