JACKSON - Mr. Michael "Mike" Anthony Williams, 65, of Jackson, South Carolina passed away on Monday, October 13, 2025, after an illness. Born July 21, 1960 in Williamsburg, Virginia, he was the son of the late Robert T. Williams Sr. and the late Sara D. Williams. Mike spent over fifty years as a resident of Burke County, Georgia before moving to Jackson seven years ago. A machinist by trade, Mike enjoyed gardening and working outdoors around the house, as long as it didn't involve working on electricity or growing tomatoes.
Mike is survived by his wife, Rebecca J. Williams; two children, James Wesley Williams (Lara) of Springfield, GA, and Jessica Michele Claxton of Douglas, GA; Eight grandchildren, Katie Brooke Williams, Diane Paige Williams, Charles Robert Williams, James Christopher Williams, Sara Elizabeth Williams, Matthew Lawton Williams, Tristan Gene Howard, Hannah Nicole Howard; two brothers, Robert T. Williams, Jr (Sarah) of The Woodlands, TX, Eric G. Williams (Clara) of McAllen, TX; and several other family members.
Mike will be missed by his family who will fondly remember his humor, which often included an abundance of playful sarcasm and quick wit. At his request, there will be no services held. Had Mike known he'd be leaving when he did, he would have made sure to remind us all, as he often did his children and grandchildren on departures, not to take any wooden nickels.
