Michael L. Walker "Mickey"
AIKEN - Michael "Mickey" Lanham Walker, 82, beloved husband of Mary Ann Rollins Walker, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Chester, SC, Mickey was the son of the late Frederick Lanham Walker and Ella Mae Grant Walker. He was a graduate of Clemson University which he was very proud of. He remained a member of IPTAY for the rest of his years enjoying all Clemson sports especially football. Go Tigers. After graduation, he moved to Aiken and retired after 41 years as a supervisor with Graniteville Co. In his retirement years, he worked at Aiken Golf Club enjoying the people and the game he loved his whole life. He was a member of the CSRA shag club with his wife where they enjoyed dancing and many great friendships. He was an unbelievable Husband and Father, "Daddy". He will be in his wife and daughter's hearts forever as they were in his!
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ann; his daughter, Michelle Lee Walker Thompson of Aiken; His brother, James Frederick Walker of Hudson, New York; multiple cousins, nieces, extended family that are all close and loved him dearly. He is predeceased by a brother, John Walker of New York.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, June 17th from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 18th at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Private interment for family will be in Southlawn Cemetery immediately following.
The family will gather at the home of the family after the services.
In lieu of flowers should you choose, memorial contributions may be directed to Special Olympics.
