Michael Rains Obituary

Michael Rains
Aiken - Michael Bruce Rains, 69, passed away Monday July 19, 2021 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.
Michael was born in Aiken, son of the late Ernest Newton Rains and Lois Jean Ross. He was employed by Phillips Industrial Services in Goose Creek, SC as an estimator, and lived in the Charleston area for most of his working career. He recently moved back to Aiken to retire. He graduated from Aiken High School in 1969 and was an avid Beatles fan and British Sports Car enthusiast, often renovating sports cars with his close lifelong friend Wendell Hall. He had a great love of the outdoors and enjoyed spending time kayaking many of the creeks in the Low Country.
He is survived by his brother, Darrell Rains (Kerry Rains, Joshua Rains, Sarah Rains Wilson) of Aiken and his close friend Aileen Hofstetter of Charleston.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Rye Patch, 100 Berrie Rd. SW, Aiken, SC, on Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 1:00-4:00pm.

I just learned of Michael's passing and wanted to extend my condolences. I worked with Michael at Southeastern Steel and Division Five in Charleston. I enjoyed working with him and valued his friendship.
