MICHAEL NEWMAN Obituary

NEWMAN, MICHAEL G. - age 68 of Loudon and formerly of Glasgow, KY, passed away Sunday, March 16, 2014. Mr. Newman was a member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church. Born and raised in Kentucky, Mike courted and married his wife Sue, as a young man. They started their family and later relocated to Loudon in 1976 where their story continued. Together they raised 5 children. Mike worked for Outside Plant Services until his health forced him into early retirement. He had a lot of knowledge when it came to cars and he enjoyed repairing and detailing cars. He had a great sense of humor, he loved music and he possessed a great many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Junior F. Newman and Cledith (Wilcox) Hodges. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, S. Sue (Shoopman) Newman; daughter and son in-law, Michelle and David Fickey, Loudon; sons and daughters in-law, Mike and Misty Newman, Philadelphia, Scott and Lois Newman, Joe and Wendy Newman, Lenny and Patti Newman, all of Loudon; grandchildren, Robert and Steven Fickey, Eric, Luke, Steven, Cameron, Cade, Jaycee, Cannon, Jaida and Scarlett Newman; great grandchildren, Rylan Newman and Emmett Fickey; sisters and brother in-law, Jean and Glen Rogers, Marla Payne; special niece and nephews, Mandy Rogers, Jason and Daniel Rogers. Services honoring and remembering Mike Newman will be held 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 19th, McGill-Karnes Chapel, Rev. Charlie Carpenter officiating. Interment 11:00 AM Thursday in Loudon County Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund c/o Gary Packett The Shepherd's Fold Baptist Church, 1925 Wade Rd., Loudon, TN 37774.
