Mr. Michael "Mike" Haltiwanger
Beech Island - Mr. Michael "Mike" Cebar Haltiwanger, 70, beloved husband of Mrs. Sharon "Sherry" Gray Haltiwanger passed away on Saturday, April 23.
The family will greet friends on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene beginning at 12:00 followed by a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 in the church sanctuary with Pastor David Gallimore and Pastor Wayne Cheselka officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, South Carolina. Pallbearers will be Richie Coleman, Russell Haltiwanger, David Kellett, Jeff Jeffcoat, Ivan Brewington, Ken Gray, Jr., Ransom Rooks, Kyle Langley, and John Rooks.
Left to cherish Mike's memory with his wife, Sherry are his sons Derrick Haltiwanger (Andrea) and Dane Haltiwanger, all of Beech Island, SC; his brother, Roddy Haltiwanger (Wanda), of Simpsonville, SC; his sister, Polly Haltiwanger Coleman (Ron), of Easley, SC and his grandchildren, Addison Haltiwanger, Anna Haltiwanger, Kullen Haltiwanger, and Isabella Haltiwanger.
Mike was born in Aiken County, SC to the late James O'Neal and Dorothy Elizabeth Shealy Haltiwanger. He was a 1969 graduate of L.B.C. High School and retired from Kimberly Clark after thirty years of service. Mike excelled in baseball and football as a teen and passed that love for sports onto his sons and finally to his grandchildren. Nothing brought him more pleasure than watching his grands plan sports. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene and the Discovering the Bible Sunday School class. He was also a proud member of the Beech Island Agriculture Club.
