Melvis Holley Garrett Obituary

Mrs. Melvis Virginia Holley Garrett, 78, of Warrenville, SC, wife of the late Charles Harmon Garrett, entered into rest on Monday, October 2025, while in the peace and comfort of the home of her daughter, Michelle (Steve) Busbee. Born in Bath, SC, at the home of her late parents, Pru and Pauline Moon Holley, she was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC. Like many in her generation, she went to work in the textile industry at United Merchants as soon as she was of age. She remained at United Merchants until it closed, like many other textile mills in the area. Melvis knew the value of a dollar and a strong work ethic. Following the closing of United Merchants, she found a much better opportunity at the CVS Distribution Center, where she retired following thirty years of service. Melvis found happiness in doing yardwork and trips to the beach and mountains. However, nothing made her any happier than the treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, Yolanda Green, Niki Christopher, Megan Justice, Logan Beverly, Kyle Busbee and Blake Busbee and great-grandchildren, Madison Nance, Madison Christopher, Payton Nance, Trinity Justice, Rozlyn Justice, Ashby Barton, Addison Barton, Cali Busbee and Avery Beverly. Along with her daughter, Michelle (Steve) Busbee, Melvis is loved and missed. Death will never take away the memories of her that will forever remain in the hearts of her daughter, Angela (Tim) Green; sister, Mary Hughes; grandchildren, (names); great-grandchildren, (names); as well as other relatives, friends, and acquaintances. Also preceding her in death were siblings, Billy, George, and J.D. Holley. In accordance with her wishes, Melvis will be cremated, and the family will honor her life with a private service. The kind and compassionate care provided to Melvis by the staff of Agape Hospice (Aiken office) is sincerely appreciated and will never be forgotten by the family, You are truly angels walking amongst us.
