Melanie was so vibrant and full of ideas. We met because of her interest in the MAPD. I know how much she loved her family and how much she will be missed. My condolences to all.

All of Melanie's many friends in Mount Airy, North Carolina are grieving after hearing the news of her sudden death.
The work that she did for the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, the Friends of Mount Airy Police, the Humane Society and her many volunteer hours with animal rescue operations will live on as a legacy to her enthusiastic positive spirit.
I personally will miss my travel companion and my horse riding buddy. I treasure the times we spent together.
Melanie's famiiy and many friends have my deepest sympathy.

I still cannot believe she is gone. She was the great connector. What a life well-lived, well-loved. And, whoever wrote her obituary captured the essence of her magnificently connecting life. I hoped to see her in Aiken, but our schedules never meshed and for that I am forever saddened at the thought of "never" because Melanie would never says never. My loss. Melanie has been on my mind since learning of her surprised passing from one of "band of sisters", Anne Guley. She was my twin's prom date and I know he has welcomed her in heaven with open arms. My mom and dad loved her visits and she always made time for them and for that I will forever be thankful.
