Megan Helmig Obituary

Megan Renee Helmig
AIKEN - Megan Renee Helmig, entered into rest on Friday, January 26, 2024, at the age of 38. Megan was born in Parkersburg, WV, and resided in Aiken, SC. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and cherished her. She was a reliable confidante and a steady presence in the lives of those around her.
Megan is survived by her loving husband, Milo Helmig, and her dear sister, Stacy Sims (Daryl Dicks and his son Daylen Ishamel Dicks), and godson, Jamie Mabli. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Sims. In-laws who held a special place in Megan's heart include Jim and Debby Burgard, Nick and Tabatha Amodio, and Joe and Angie Burgard. Megan's connection with her family brought her immense joy, and their shared memories will continue to be a source of comfort in the days ahead. Megan was also a pet parent to her beloved dogs, Shila and Carly, and her cat, Lily.
She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Sims. The love they shared and the memories they created together continue to resonate in the hearts of those who love them.
Megan graduated from the University of South Carolina Aiken with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
One of Megan's greatest joys was spending quality time at the beach and Hilton Head held a special place in her heart.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2024, at George Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. in The George Funeral Chapel. Pastor Mike Canipe will officiate.

I am so very sorry to hear of Megan´s passing. I only know of her through stories told to me by her mother. I know that she was a beloved companion. Wishing comfort and peace to all her family and friends.

Party at Kevin Mobley house. Megan was always so easy to talk with and so sweet. She was always smiling and fun to be around. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her usually only at get togethers. She will be missed.
