I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family of Dr. Tobin. He was a wonderfully gifted professor at South Carolina State who stimulated and honed my interest in both American and African American History.

It has been over 35 years now, but I can still feel my excitement and enthusiasm while learning about black history and United States history to1865 as Dr. Tobin enumerated timelines, facts and figures and indefatigably engaged his students in spirited debate.

He was a gift to the students at "State College" and I will always think about my time in his classroom as one of those "life lessons" that shaped me into the erudite person I am today!!

God Bless You!!
