Maurice Samuelian Obituary

Maurice (Moss) Paul Samuelian Jr., aged 75, of Aiken, South Carolina, slipped peacefully from this world on Friday, November 8th, 2024, with his wife and daughter by his side. Born in New Britain, CT to Maurice (Moe) Samuelian, Sr., and Constance (Badolato) Samuelian. Moss and his beautiful bride of 52 years, Kathie (Ripolone) Samuelian relocated to Aiken, SC to enjoy the second half of their life together. Prior to moving to Aiken, they lived and worked in Connecticut, owning Jake's Café in East Hampton, and then he went on to work for SYSCO Foods until his retirement. Moss graduated from Conard High School in West Hartford and went on to CCSU and the Hartford Conservatory of Music. He was a lover of music and was in a band in his earlier years. His BSA Rocket Gold Star motorcycle was his baby, and he loved the Red Sox and the Washington Red Skins. Moss made every room light up when he walked in and always had a joke to tell. One of the happiest days of his life was when his daughter Erika Sydney was born, and he was even happier when she chose to move to Aiken with her fiancé Paul Stelzner, to be closer to them. He was the best husband, father, and poppy to Coco, Francesca and Prada. Moss will be missed by his soulmate and daughter every day, but his legacy and memories will live in their hearts forever. Moss is survived by his wife Kathie, his daughter Erika (Paul), brother Anthony (Tina), niece Melanie (James), nephew Adam (Christi), great nephews (Jake and Tristan), great niece (Eva), and many cousins and friends. We want to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors in the Cardiology ICU at WellStar/Augusta University Hospital for their compassionate care. Kathie and Erika will bring Moss home to CT for a celebration of life in the Spring. Details will be shared at a later date.
