Matthew Fry Obituary
AIKEN - MATTHEW BEECHER "MATT" FRY, 58, beloved husband of Mary Ann McLean Fry, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his residence after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Groton, CT and a native of Bethesda, MD, Matt was a son of Tanya O'Jeda Fry and the late John Craig Fry, Sr. He was a graduate of the Lawrenceville School, Princeton, NJ and a 1981 graduate of The University of South Carolina, Columbia, with a BS in Business Administration. He was a vice-president / internal audit manager of Security Federal Bank. He was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Mary Ann and mother, Tanya, include a daughter, Haley Alexandra Fry, Aiken; two sons, Christopher Matthew Fry (Fiancee Sarah Schoffman) and Nicholas Beecher Fry, both of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, John Craig Fry, Jr. (Robin), Gig Harbor, WA, David Chase Fry, Aiken; beloved sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Debra Lynn McLean Murphy (Andrew), Kathy Marcelle McLean, Fred Douglas McLean, all of Aiken, Karin Fry, Darien, CT; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Yeager (Merritt), Melissa Nation, Ryan Murphy, Matthew O'Jeda Fry, Kirsten Fry; great-nieces and nephews, Isabella Yeager, Emi Yeager, Jack Nation.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 10th from 6 until 8 o'clock at Shellhouse - Rivers Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Friday morning at 11 o'clock at Aiken's First Baptist Church with The Rev. Dr. Fred W. Andrea III officiating. Interment will follow in Historic Bethany Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken's First Baptist Church, Youth Ministery, 120 Chesterfield St., N., Aiken, SC 29801.

Matt is missed very much by all of Us.He was a sweet man always smiling and joking about things going on at the bank and in life.I enjoyed talking to him he was a good Friend. It's been a year since my Friend passed.I was in Charleston this past weekend.Saw a guy throwing a net thought about Matt and all the stories he use to tell about shrimpin which he loved to do. My heart goes out to his wife and Children and Family.Its never easy but as time goes by I hope God will give you peace and ease the hurt.My prayers are with you. Teresa New

Dear Mary Ann and Children and Family my prayers are with you at this time i feel your loss ive been there where you are i worked beside Matt at sec fed seversl years ago we talked alot about shrimping and how much he loved you all and how proud he was of you he was a good Friend and will be missed by us all may God give u peace and comfort during this time
