Mary Ann Roe
AIKEN - A Graveside Funeral Service for Mary Ann Thomas Roe, 83, of Aiken, SC will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday August 15, 2023 at the Redds Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service in the Church Sanctuary. Mrs. Roe passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. The family has asked that Memorials be made to Redds Branch Baptist Church, 390 Redds Branch Road, Aiken, SC 29801.
Born in Baxley, GA she was a daughter of the late Turby Fields Thomas, Sr. and Mary Anna Mosley Thomas. Mrs. Roe was a devoted Christian lady and member of Redds Branch Baptist Church where she sang in the church choir and helped with numerous other church committees. She enjoyed gardening, singing and playing the guitar and loved cooking for her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy (Smith) Nunn of Johns Island; her son, Ralph Eugene "Bubba" Roe, Jr. (Dee Byrd) of Windsor; the father of their children, Ralph Eugene Roe, Sr.; grandchildren, Samantha (Johnny) Ban, Kristena Nunn and Kylee Byrd; great-grandchildren, Trey Bevins, Farrah Ban, Frances Ban and Jolene Ban; brothers, Glenn (Dot) Thomas and David "Rooster" (Sheila) Thomas all of Aiken; a sister-in-law, Betty Thomas of Baxley, GA; a brother-in-law, Randy Seigler of Aiken and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins who she dearly loved.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Janie "Cookie" Seigler and brothers, Turby Fields "Boots" Thomas, Jr. and Carl Thomas.
Folk Funeral Home, Inc. and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements.
