NORTHAUGUSTA - Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Jean Hamrick Johnson, 87, of North Augusta, SC, who entered into eternal rest January 2, 2018, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Robert Hunt officiating. Entombment in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Johnson was the daughter of the late Roy C. Hamrick and Mary Whitaker Brown Hamrick, a native of Knoxville, TN, a former resident of Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC, having made North Augusta her home for the past forty-five years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Little Table Bridge Club, Past President of the Metropolitan Women's Club of Augusta and enjoyed reading and painting. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Thomas R. Johnson, Jr., a sister, Elizabeth Hope Porter.
Mrs. Johnson loved being a wife and mother, and loved the Lord.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Tom and Julia Johnson, Evans, GA and Roy and Leslie Johnson, North Augusta, SC; a daughter, Mary Evelyn Lewis, North Augusta, SC; six grandchildren, Jason Dukes, Tiffany Dukes, Amanda Johnson, Lindsey Johnson, Katy Lewis and Jenny Lewis; a niece, Patsy Porter, Richmond, VA
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8.
