Mary Dix Alverson Hunt
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Mrs. Mary Dix Alverson Hunt, 73, wife of the late Raymond "Ray" Hunt, entered into rest on Friday, May 27th, 2016.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Ella Benson Dix. She was a Bookkeeper with K-Mart Foods for over thirty years and later went to work with Central Ambulance, where she retired as General Manager.
Mrs. Hunt was a dedicated member of the Bible Deliverance Temple, Augusta, GA.
She enjoyed making jewelry, shopping, camping, fishing and being outdoors. More than anything however, she enjoyed being with her family.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include her children, William Dean Alverson, Dallas, TX, Sherri Alverson Moulton and her husband, Michael, Sr., Aiken, SC, Hubert Chris Alverson and his wife, Sharon, North Augusta, SC and Kathy Hunt Tufts, Harriman, TN; siblings, Louise Archer and her husband, the late Ray, North Augusta, SC and the late William Richard Dix, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Monday, May 30th, 2016, from 6 until 9 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 31st, 2016, at 11 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with Dr. Kelly McKnight and Rev. George Webb officiating.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Justin Pitts, Wesley Hasty, Dr. Alex Alverson, Michael Moulton, Jr., Dewayne Minor and Chuck Shreve.
Friends are also welcome to call at the home of Louise Archer.
At the request of Mrs. Hunt, please make memorials to the American Cancer Society. (www.cancer.org)
Due to her active participation in the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, the family has asked that, if so desired, memorials may also be made to (www.ccfa.org) as well.
