AIKEN, SC - A celebration of life service for Mrs. Mary Frances Shead Heyward, age 86 will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. W.H. Bryant and Rev. Clyde Harden officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Park.
Mrs. Heyward entered into rest Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Trinity Mission Edgefield. She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. John Shead and the late Mr. Milton Heyward, and daughter of the late Mr. Lindsey Patrick, and the late Mrs. Ruth Clark Patrick. Mrs. Heyward was a native of Franklin County, GA and had made Aiken County her home for most of her life. She was a retired Line Operator for Therma Disc (ASCO) and a member of the North Aiken Church of God.
Survivors include one son, Lewis (Nancy) Shead, Ridge Spring; one daughter, Katherine (Buddy) Matthews, Aiken; three brothers, Howard Bagwell, Hull, GA, Bob Bagwell, Commerce, GA, Clyde Beck, Jr., Jefferson, GA; four sisters, Opal Sherwood, Hull, GA, Mary Duncan, Bogart, GA, Pamela Cash, Statetum, GA, Ann Aikin, Athens, GA; three grandchildren, Tiffany Nix, Angela Gunter, Revonda Godfrey; one great-grandchild, Autumn Hartley; a special friend, Sue Herrick, Aiken. Mrs. Heyward was predeceased by one son, Hoyt Shead, one daughter, Edna Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Hartley, Patton Butts, Kevin Matthews, Brandon Doolittle, Greg Anderson, and Chad Doolittle.
