Mary Daniels Obituary

Mary Rheney Daniels, 92, of North Augusta, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, September 29, 2025. Born in Augusta on October 5, 1932, Mrs. Daniels was the younger daughter of Weldon E. Rheney and Ollie Burkhalter Rheney of Hephzibah, GA. She had fond memories of working at Georgia Railroad Bank and Trust for nearly two decades, and retired from a career in admissions at University Hospital. Mrs. Daniels had a deep and abiding faith and was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. Her relationship with God gave her great strength and a remarkable zest for life. Outside of spending time with her family, she enjoyed following the Atlanta Braves, watching Fox News, doting on her canine companion Mickey, and sharing stories of her blessed childhood in Hephzibah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her eldest son, Weldon Hoyle Daniels, her niece, Rebecca Hancock Mooney, her sister, Eva Mae Rheney Hancock, and several beloved cousins, aunts and uncles. Survivors include her daughter, Mary Rheney Martin; son, Stephen J. Daniels (Sylvia Flowers); grandchildren, Marykay Martin, Frank Martin, and Riley Martin (Rebecca); great-grandchild Madison Martin; niece Mary Carolyn Thigpen (Ron).
