Marietta Watson Obituary

North Augusta, SC – Marietta Boswell Watson, 97, entered into eternal rest on February 16, 2026. Private services will be held at a later date.

Born May 18, 1928, in Louisville, Kentucky, Marietta lived a life centered on faith, family, music, and service. She shared her love of music as a devoted piano teacher for many years. In her younger days, she enjoyed playing field hockey and volleyball at the University of Louisville.

A faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Augusta as well as the Church of Our Savior in Martinez. She served for many years as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a dedicated Den Mother and an active leader in the Chattanooga Pharmaceutical Wives Association.

Marietta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel F. Watson, Jr., and her parents, James and Mildred Boswell.

She leaves behind a loving family: her daughter, Rosemary Villemain (Dennis); her son, Samuel F. Watson, III (Jan); her grandchildren, Autumn (Grayson), Sam, Alan (Audrey), and Kimberly (John); six great-grandchildren; her brother, James (Kitty); and her sister-in-law, Sandra Sanders

She will be remembered for her steady faith, warm heart, and deep love for her family.
