Maria Brevick Obituary
AIKEN, SC - Maria Luisa (Lu) Brevick, 87, beloved wife of Conrad (Connie) A. Brevick passed away Wednesday June 22, 2016 at Alexandria Hospital in VA.
A native of NY, Lu was the daughter of Giuseppe and Concetta Scoppa. She attended the Institute of the Alcantarine Sisters in Naples Italy, and the Scudder School in NY. Lu and Connie moved to Aiken in 1998, making numerous close friends while residing at Woodside Plantation and Cumberland Village. Lu recently resided at Trinity on Laurens. To become a Life Master of ACBL Bridge is the dream of all serious bridge players. Lu was a very serious duplicate bridge player, and both a Life Master and a Director. Her friends knew her for her sharp mind, love of a good joke, and entertaining stories.
Funeral services will be at 11 AM, Saturday July 16, 2016 at St Thaddeus Episcopal Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Joseph Whitehurst will officiate.
Survivors include her nieces & nephews: Terri Richard of VA, Paul Scoppa of CO, Jim Scoppa of CO, Steve Scoppa of MD, Salli John of NC, and Miffi Williams of NC.
In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St Thaddeus Church, 125 Pendleton St., SW, Aiken, SC 29801, or the charity of your choice.
